Tonye Graham-Douglas, administrator and politician, 72, May 8. Born in Abonema, Degema, local government area of Rivers State, he was educated at Bishop Crowther Memorial School, Abonema, 1947-1950; Government School, Lagos, 1951-1954; Baptist High School, Port Harcourt, 1956-1960; University of Lagos, 1965-1969. Graham-Douglas had at various times served as administrative manager, Nigerian Petroleum Refining Company; Rivers State commissioner for Youth, Sport and Culture; minister of Social Development, Youth and Sport; and minister of Aviation. He was elected senator in 1999, and appointed minister of labour and productivity, 1999-2000. He holds the traditional title of Orubibiye of Opuba 1 of Abonema.
