Timipre Sylva, governor of Bayelsa State, 47, July 7. Born in Okpoma, Brass local government area of Bayelsa State, he was educated at St Paul’s Anglican Primary School, Okpoma, Bayelsa State, Ajeromi Ifelodun Central School, Lagos; Government Secondary School, Lagos; Government Secondary School, Twon, Brass, and University of Port Harcourt. He was executive secretary, National Minority Business Council; member, Old Rivers State House of Assembly, 1991-1992; political adviser to Diepreye Alamieyesiegha, former governor of Bayelsa State. Sylva was a member, governing council, Federal University of Agriculture, Umudike, Abia State, in 2004.
